People often ask me what exactly I do for a living. Even my son does.
A dear friend of mine once described it perfectly:
“He’s that strange character who, metaphorically sitting behind a room full of buttons, manages the budget of an album, working side by side with the Artists, drawing the best out of them, chiselling songs like a craftsman — yes, but with the sensitivity of an Artist and the eye of a market man.
A sort of alchemist of the seven notes (twelve, actually, for the record), guru and accountant at the same time.”
